lockjaws* was the first in-house publication by ebc that was later developed and reimagined into RUNG.
lockjaws* was born in 2014 and was developed by artists karanjit panesar, isaac stacey and jack lewdjaw. conceived as a way of showcasing many artists’ work in a collaborative format, the publication took the form of a printed ‘bienniale’ with curators responsible for a double page spread each. involving over 60 artists and 8 curators, issue one was launched as part of the former bristol and bath art weekender alongside a major exhibition featuring artists from the publication. the launch took place at trinity arts centre in october 2015, and ultimately led to the relationship with trinity that saw the launch of ebc early the following year.
