ebc020 was our final exhibition of summer 2018; the artists’ work responded to a number of functional staging platforms positioned in the gallery. the exhibition featured new and existing work by andrew (birmingham), molly (bristol), katrina (bradford) and ruaidhri (london). a short text accompanied the exhibition focussing on its link to ebc004:mezzanine and the scaffolding present outside the trinity arts centre building. for the exhibition andrew presented a series of broken up screen-printed concrete slabs, while katrina exhibited a series of neon lights and vacuumed plastic forms. molly showed several large colourful paintings and prints, and ruaidhri showed two film works; one of which focussed on his trip to iceland in search of elves and the other his immersion in the world of long haul trucking computer simulations.

the ebc020 opening event also included the launch of rung magazine issue 1. fka lockjaws*. the launch included free copies of the publication as well as music and performances, including the CHAMP band and artist buoys buoys buoys. rung is edited by frances kelly & izzy emberson and issue 1 features the work of over 50 artists and curators.

in addition, and as part of the exhibition programme, molly facilitated a roller making and printing workshop which took place on a gloriously sunny afternoon in the trinity centre garden. participants made colourful printed wallpaper strips. there was also an informal artist talk/tour as part of ebc020.
