Description
litho print
38.5x27cm
zerhall 180gsm paper
this print is based on the ancient ‘cup and ring marks’ that you sometimes find carved into old rocks. they are usually, but not always, ascribed to the late neolithic and early bronze-age periods of prehistory and copper sounds are obsessed with all the theories that surround them…
for this print, they went out in the dead of night, chipped out one of these marks from the rock face and stuck it through the printing press.
no, obviously they didn’t do that.
or did they?!?!
no! this is a stone litho print – a real process that involves drawing directly onto a piece of limestone, inking it up and then putting it through the press.
