east bristol contemporary (ebc) is an artist-led gallery based in Bristol, and established in 2016.

we make exhibitions, organise alternative education projects (day + night school), and run other events for the public; including artist talks/tours, workshops, screenings, residencies, off-site exhibitions, performances and opening events.

ebc seeks to counteract the lack of established showing spaces for grass roots contemporary artists in Bristol, and to establish a unique and diverse programme of exhibitions and events.

ebc additionally aims to support artists based in the south west.

we work with many different artists from all over the UK and further afield, with a focus on those within the first 10 years of their career, bringing their artworks to new audiences in the city. we seek to be an inclusive environment working with artists from all backgrounds.

ebc values paying artists, and with funding from the Arts Council England and other funding, we have been able to do so.
